The Lift At Work Is Poorly

The lift voice is a cooing voice, a bit like a dove or a pigeon.
'Doors opening', she says.
'Doors closing'.
People scrunch up, ready to be taken upstairs.
'Doors opening'.
Has someone pressed the button?
No.
'Doors closing'.
People scrunch again.
'Doors opening'.
Depending of stress levels, people hiss and storm out of the lift, laugh and shrug their shoulders, or look unhappily into space.
'Doors closing'.
'Doors opening'.
The person who invented stairs was a genius.
